Dundalk Garden Centre are hosting their 5th annual ‘Gardening Day Out’ on Saturday the 18th of May from 10am!

Just over 43 years ago The Dundalk Garden Centre opened it’s doors for the first time. Started by Robert ‘Mickey’ Cox and today continued by his daughters Jacqui and Nicola, this Dundalk institution has delighted in serving it’s town and community.

We feel that with big national and international events such as Bloom and the Chelsea Flower Show coming up over the next few weeks, now is the perfect time to bring a little bit of that buzz to the local community.

Dundalk Garden Centres Gardening Day Out will feature free demonstrations and workshops by industry experts throughout the day and a wide range of special offers available on the day.

Meet the Alpacas

Come meet Harry (a Huacaya alpaca), Cecil, Perkunas & Proudlock (Suri alpacas) from Long Acre Alpacas. These tall, gentle and wooly animals are wonderful to be around so why not swing by to say hello!

Rose Clinic

Taking a day out from his busy nursery in Cork, professional rose grower, John McNamara will be at the Dundalk Garden Centre from 11am to 5pm sharing tips and tricks for growing healthy beautiful roses.

Summer Baskets Demonstration

All the way from London, our gardener to the stars John Sarbutt will be spending the day sharing his expertise. Expect a wealth of helpful advice on everything from hanging baskets to summer planting!

Seed Planting for Children

A fun workshop on seed planting for the budding gardeners! All attendees will have the opportunity to make a pot, plant a seed to take home with them and watch it blossom into a beautiful plant.

Fresh Crepes and Refreshments

A whole range of freshly sweet and savoury crepes will be available, along with tea, coffee and snacks throughout the day.

Variety of Stalls
